She completed her medical education at Uludağ University Faculty of Medicine in 1981. Between 1981-1984, she worked as a general practitioner. In 1989, she completed her specialty training at Uludağ University Faculty of Medicine, Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.

        She served as a Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Specialist in Bursa Mustafa Kemalpaşa State Hospital between 1990-1992. In 1992, she joined Uludağ University Faculty of Medicine, Department of PM&R as a PM&R Specialist. She was appointed as Assistant Professor in 1993, Associate Professor in 1999 and Professor in 2007.

        In 1993, for 3 months she worked as an observer in the Pediatric Rehabilitation Unit at Long Island College Hospital in New York, USA (2 months) and in the Pediatric Rehabilitation Unit of New York University Department (1 month). She served as the head of the PM&R Department, vice chairman of the Internal Medicine Department and member of the Board of Directors of the Faculty of Medicine at Uludağ University.

        Associations she is a member of: Association of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation of Türkiye, Association of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Specialist Physicians, Turkish Rheumatism Society; She is actively working in the Geriatric Rehabilitation, Osteoporosis, Physical medicine and rehabilitation modalities working group of the Association of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation of Türkiye. She has many national and international publications, book chapters, book editorships, and journal editorial board membership. She has taken part as a speaker, chairperson and course instructor in many sessions and panels in congresses, symposiums and courses. Between 2004 and 2022, she served as the President of Bursa Branch of Turkish Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Association. During this period, she organized the Uludağ PM&R Days Symposium regularly. She is still the Chairperson of the Geriatric Rehabilitation Working Committee and a member of the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Qualification Board. In November 2023, she completed her duty at Bursa Uludağ University Faculty of Medicine, Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation due to retirement.

Areas of Research and Interest

         She has publications, papers and book chapters in national and international journals on pediatric rehabilitation, osteoporosis, cancer rehabilitation, lymphedema, geriatric rehabilitation, musculoskeletal pain and neurorehabilitation.
